DRU - Jack-O-Lantern Faces

 Hello craft friends,

Mary back on the blog today with two more Halloween cards featuring the Jack-O-Lantern Faces die set from Frantic Stamper.  I love this set of scary faces... they are the perfect size for grouping onto a card front.  I used them on two slim cards.

On this first card, I die cut the Jack-O-Lantern Faces into the black card front and used distressed oxide inks to "light" them up underneath. I carried the ink colors a crossed the card base, so that a little bit of it would show once the black card front was glue down.  This was a quick card, the most time consuming part of making it was the ink blending.

I'm submitting this card to Simon Says: Spooky Challenge, wish me luck!

On this second card, I die cut the Jack-O-Lantern Faces into orange glitter card stock die cut circles (Stitched Circle Stackables) and glue them onto my card making for another quick an easy card.

Hope your having a fun Fall/Halloween season... Until next time... Take care.

Clowns

Hello Crafty Friends,

There are a lot of scary things in the world, bugs and clowns are high on my list.  This stamp set by Whimsy Stamps called Creepy Clowns is prefect for making some scary cards.   My card has both the clowns from the stamp set popping out from the background.

I'm submitting this card to the following challenges:

Thank you for stopping bye and wish me luck.

Halloween Kitties In Pumpkins

Hello Crafty Friends,

I can't believe Halloween is next week and October is almost over.  I have to get all the Halloween cards I've made ready for mailing this weekend.  But before I send them all out, I've selected a few of my favorite to submit to challenges.

This card, created with a watercolor background full of stamped Pumpkin Kitty from Impression Obsession hides a surprise.

I used Chibitronics lights to make most of the jack-o-lanterns light up.  Here's a short video showing it light up.

I'm submitting this card to the following challenges:

Impression Obsession's Happy Haunting Challenge

Thank you for stopping bye and wish me luck.

Simon Says Flower Power Challenge

Hello crafty friends,

Just finished this card, which I'll be submitting to Simon Says Monday Flower Power Challenge...

This is a one layer stamped card using one of the flowers from the CAS-ual Fridays Pretty Posies stamp set.  The heart was die cut from the card front using the CAS-ual Fridays Heart Board die and glued to the card's inside.  The sentiment on the hand cut fishtail banner is from the CAS-ual Fridays Sassy Smiles stamp set.

I'm also submitting this card to Simon Says Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge and Through the Purple Haze Challenge 143 Spring/Easter.  Thanks for stopping bye... until next time, take care.

Happy Birthday To You

Hello craft friends,

Do you struggle making birthday cards for the men in your lives?  I do.  My husband isn't into home repairs (he does them, but it's not his thing), he's not into hunting (thankfully) or fishing.  He's into sports (Chicago teams), but I'm not into sports at ALL, so I never venture into that arena (get it? LOL).  Therefore, I struggle coming up with ideas for his cards... and I will share a secret with just you... there have been years when he didn't get a card from me (YES, it's true).   But not this year... I'm ready with a good card for him this year... now I just have to put it somewhere I will remember come August.

Yes, my hubby likes cards (poker, blackjack, etc.), so when I recently found this poker chip die I knew I needed to get it and pair it w/my old and still unused Tim Holtz poker card embossing folders... and in true Tim Holtz fashion, I distressed my three playing cards by inking the embossing folders before embossing the card stock.  I added a Lawn Fawn "happy birthday border" die cut along the top arch of my wood pattern paper element.

Thanks for stopping bye.  Until next time... take care.

I'm entering the following challenges:
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Happy Birthday with runs 4/4 to 4/11 8am
Simon Says Monday Challenge - A Trio of Something, with runs 4/2 to 4/9 8am.

Birthday Boxes

Hello crafty friends,

I made this card for a friend's birthday...  I filled the boxes with stuff she likes, because I couldn't decided on what stamps to use (flowers, cat, balloons, cupcakes, etc.), so I used them all

The flowers are by Altenew, the balloons animals by Clearly Besotted, the cupcakes by Papertrey Ink, the candle by Penny Black, the cat by Simon Says and the boxes by Neat and Tangled.

I'm going to submit this card to the Simon Says Monday "Inside the Box" Challenge, which starts today and runs for six days.   Wish me luck :)
