Craft Roulette #96 Card & Video

Hello crafty friends,

Here's my submission to Craft Roulette ChallengeEpisode #96 (33rd consecutive):

The parameters the craft wheel selected stumped me this week.  They weren't overly weird or hard, but they just weren't coming together in my mind.  When this happens, I focus on a specific person I want to give the card to and in doing so, my knowledge of the person helps ideas form.

I started by picking pattern paper that met the plum parameter, then I created the explosion folding element.  I used the closed explosion element to trace the "house" shape onto white card stock, so I would have a place to stamp and decorate the inside of the card.   Tip... when you got to stamp/decorate your "house" shapes double check they are pointing in the correct direction (towards each other).  Once stamped and colored, I adhered them to the Explosion element and set it aside to work on the front of the card.

I created a flat shaker element for my "Stuffed" parameter element using the panel of pattern paper and topped it with a Spanish die cut "Feliz".  I will go back and add a "cumpleaƱos" stamp or die cut label to the front of the card later. Once the front was done, I sandwiched a black ribbon between the explosion element and the inside of the card base when adhering the explosion element to create a way to keep the card close.

Thanks for stopping bye.  Until next time, take care.

TOB - Jan2022 Mid Month Challenge

UPDATE,,,

So I reprinted the digital image and tried coloring it again.  I'm much happier with my second attempt at getting a purple inner glow, but still no way near to what I was looking for.  Just have to keep practicing.

Hello crafty friends,

Welcome to a new month at the Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge, which runs from the 2nd to the 28th of the month and the theme is always Halloween... ANYTHING related to Halloween!

I used a coloring page image to create a slim card for my mid month reminder post.  I tried my hand at creating a glowing purple pumpkin, but I'm honestly not happy with the results.  I will have to keep practicing.  If you know of any inner glow tutorials, let me know.

Here's this month's mood board for additional inspiration... Hope to see your card soon.

Challenge ends on the 28th, winner will be announced on the 1st on the month before the start on the new challenge.  For a full list of all the rules please visit Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge home page.  unit next time... take care.

Craft Roulette #94 Card

Hello crafty friends,

Here's my submission to Craft Roulette ChallengeEpisode #94 (32nd consecutive):

I don't know at what point during the show I started thinking/interpreting "Transportation" as a wish/dream to be taken away. Like in the old tv commercial "Calgon, take me away". Maybe it had something to do with the fact that my house was a total mess with empty Christmas containers waiting to be filled and packed away. And don't get me started on the condition of my office/craft room.

Since I was going with a theme of "Calgon, take me away", I went looking for a really old stamp of a lady in a bathtub I had. I can't remember the brand and I couldn't find it, maybe I even got rid of it in a purge, so I went looking for a digital alternative. The above penguin images are both digitals by Whimsy Stamps.  The purple background is just a rectangle shape I colored light purple. The thought bubbles are also shapes created in Photoshop Elements.   One purple rectangle a little bigger that A2 with the thought bubble and skiing penguin sized and position inside for base. One purple rectangle a little wider than A2 for pocket. The main image outside the purple ready for coloring and fussy cutting. Here's what my print sheet looked like:

My penguin's happy place in a snowy mountain. The card's pocket can be use for a gift card to a skiing vacation or a spa (for relaxing). Personally, I'd prefer a tropical beach vacation over a wintery one any day. So if anyone wants to give me one of those, I can be packed in 10 minutes.

Thanks for stopping bye.  Until next time, take care.

Craft Roulette #93 Card & Video

Hello crafty friends,

Here's my submission to Craft Roulette ChallengeEpisode #93 (31st consecutive):

When the crafty wheel landed on rodents I cringed, because I automatically thought of mice and rats and knew I didn't have any in my stash.  Don't like them (or bugs), so I don't buy them.  But as the suggestions of different rodents started scrolling by the chat screen, I remember I had this cute guinea pig from IO in my stash and I got the idea to make the vertical line random parameter her cage door.

Cutting out the bars the most time consuming part of the card.  I used scoreboard and T ruler to keep my lines straight and even.  Jan, has a cute pink bow, heart shape donut pillow and purple bed.  She's a Happy little thing.

I had company (Storm) on my craft desk during the making of this card.  He's not a lap cat, but usually close to me in some way.

Thanks for stopping bye.  Until next time, take care.

TOB - Jan2022 Challenge

Happy 2022 and welcome to a new year here at the Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge, which runs from the 2nd to the 28th of the month and the theme is always Halloween... ANYTHING related to Halloween!

My project is an A2 shaker card.  I used a scene die, which I die cut from black card stock.   The background, I ink blended using two shades of purple Distress Oxides.

I love the purples (it's my favorite color) in this month's mood board. I was inspired by the bottom left photo of a night time scene.

Challenge ends on the 28th, winner will be announced on the 1st on the month before the start on the new challenge.  For a full list of all the rules please visit Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge home page.  unit next time... take care.
