Scrapy Land - Extra

Hello crafty friends...

UPDATED 11/1/18... well, I got my dates mixed up and posted this card a week early. So I'm calling it an extra bit of Halloween fun, and going back into my card room to make another card for the real #101 post.  LOL

Welcome to Scrapy Land Challenge 101... our theme is always "anything goes".  Today is Halloween, my favorite day of the year.  How many of you have a Halloween tree in your house?  Well, I created one for this post featuring a spellbinders christmas tree die.

The die I used is not currently available, but there several similar tree dies available that would work just a well.  I created three sections for my shaker stuffing, which is a mixed of small beads and craft crystals.  The front panel is raised on craft foam to accommodate the shaker.  I kept the card front clean and simple, letting the tree by the only design element.

Thanks for stopping bye.... please join us for this challenge.  The winners... one selected randomly and one selected by the Design Team will both receive a $10 gift certificate to Scrapy Land.  Until next time... take care

Clowns

Hello Crafty Friends,

There are a lot of scary things in the world, bugs and clowns are high on my list.  This stamp set by Whimsy Stamps called Creepy Clowns is prefect for making some scary cards.   My card has both the clowns from the stamp set popping out from the background.

I'm submitting this card to the following challenges:

Thank you for stopping bye and wish me luck.

Halloween Kitties In Pumpkins

Hello Crafty Friends,

I can't believe Halloween is next week and October is almost over.  I have to get all the Halloween cards I've made ready for mailing this weekend.  But before I send them all out, I've selected a few of my favorite to submit to challenges.

This card, created with a watercolor background full of stamped Pumpkin Kitty from Impression Obsession hides a surprise.

I used Chibitronics lights to make most of the jack-o-lanterns light up.  Here's a short video showing it light up.

I'm submitting this card to the following challenges:

Thank you for stopping bye and wish me luck.

Inspiration Squad - Challenge 211

Hello crafty friends...
Welcome to CAS-ual Friday's Challenge #211.   Our theme for this challenge is this photo...

Here's my interpretation of the photo...

I LOVE FALL and I loved the wood background of the inspiration photo, so I used wood-grain embossing folder for my cards main background.  Next incorporated the photo's single large leaf as several smaller leaves using the Pretty Posies stamp set.  I used the banner and the "thanks sooo much" sentiment from the Bushy Tailed stamp set to connect my two leaf groupings.

I used metallic watercolors to color my stamped leaves and to "distress" my wood-grain backgound.  All the elements have a great metallic look to them, but sadly the pictures don't show it.

Remember... 10 winning entries will be highlighted on this blog each Thursday before a new challenge is set to go live the next day.  In addition, Michele has generously offered up a $25 gift certificate to the overall winner at CAS-ual Fridays Stamps.   If the chosen winner has used CAS-ual Fridays stamps and/or dies as the main focus in the card, that gift certificate will increase to $50.

Thanks for stopping bye... until next time, take care.

Scrapy Land - Challenge 100

Hello crafty friends...

WELCOME TO OUR 100TH CHALLENGE!

We are so excited to share this huge milestone with you.
This is a CELEBRATION where YOU win the prizes!

Each prize package will be a fun Mystery Box worth $25

Here are the four ways you can win:
 One Random Choice Winner
 One Designer Choice Winner
One Blog Hop Winner (more info on this below)
One Additional Random Winner if the Scrapy Land Challenge blog
goes over 100 entries (so please share with all your friends).

Our 100TH CHALLENGE theme is CELEBRATION.
However, the Anything Goes theme is also an option... Just make sure a die cut from any brand that Scrapy Land sells is included on your project.  Here's my project...

The theme of celebration doesn't have to be a birthday or anniversary card.  It can be the celebration of your kid's first steps, the purchase of a new home or as in my case... a card celebrating Halloween, which is my favorite holiday.

I used these fun dies for this card... IO's Six Witches, don't they look like they are having a fun time?  The card front was created with the Party Light Collage die, which only cuts the middle oval with the banner "lights".  I created a shaker element... note to self, double check the orientation of your card before closing your shaker element. Lastly, I added a Celebrate die from ECD.

Our 100TH CHALLENGE BLOG HOP will run until Nov. 4th, and will feature lots of great CELEBRATION theme inspiration from our Designers.  The Blog Hop Winner will be chosen from comments left on each of the Designers' blogs and on the Scrapy Land Challenge blog.

have fun hopping... your next stop is Sherry blog.

Inspiration Squad - Challenge 210

Hello crafty friends...
Welcome to CAS-ual Friday's Challenge #210.   Our theme for this challenge is ...

A color combination of pinks and grays.  I love gray, but I have to admit I don't use pink too often.  So I took up the pink challenge and created two cards using stamps from the Peaceful Garden set.

here's a close up of card one...

here's a close up of card two...

Scrapy Land - Challenge 99

Hello crafty friends... welcome to the start of Scrapy Land Challenge #99.  Come join us... our theme is always "anything goes".

I'm in full Halloween card making mood now, but the die I'm going to showcase is not a Halloween die.  It's actually a die that most people will not even see.  The Elizabeth Craft Designs Scissors Spring Mechanisms die is something must of us who love dimension on our card can't live without.

I used it to give dimension to my cute (digital) bat on the front of my card.  If I had used foam, I would have gotten dimension, but not movement.  I could have used an action wobble, but didn't have any on hand and those babies are expensive.  You can make hundreds of these spring mechanisms for the cost of a pack of action wobbles.

Here's a peek under the bat... notice that I trimmed the spring to just one level, making this die more useful, because you can adjust the height to your project.  I should also mention that the spring dies are actually intended to make elements on the inside of a card spring up when the card is open.

Thanks for stopping bye.... please join us for this challenge.  The winners... one selected randomly and one selected by the Design Team will both receive a $10 gift certificate to Scrapy Land.  Until next time... take care.

We are only 1 challenge away from our big 100th...
