Simon Says Flower Power Challenge

Hello crafty friends,

Just finished this card, which I'll be submitting to Simon Says Monday Flower Power Challenge...

This is a one layer stamped card using one of the flowers from the CAS-ual Fridays Pretty Posies stamp set.  The heart was die cut from the card front using the CAS-ual Fridays Heart Board die and glued to the card's inside.  The sentiment on the hand cut fishtail banner is from the CAS-ual Fridays Sassy Smiles stamp set.

I'm also submitting this card to Simon Says Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge and Through the Purple Haze Challenge 143 Spring/Easter.  Thanks for stopping bye... until next time, take care.

Michele's 50th Birthday Hop

Hello craft friends,

Today we celebrate Michele Gross (owner of CAS-ual Fridays) turning 50th over at CAS-ual Fridays Stamps.  As someone who's a few years into her 50s, I welcome her to this decade, which is not a bad one at all.  Since my thoughts were on decades, I decided to have some fun and create five decade specific birthday cards.  So, this post contains cards for a 10 year old, a 20 year old, etc.

My card for a 10 year old, has one of the bunnies from the Somebunny stamp set holding a yellow balloon.  "its your birthday" from the Whole Sheband stamp set is stamped on a tag several times with a fishtail banner full of stars from the Fun-Fetti die set die cut into it and backed with yellow card stock.

My card for a 20 year old, has a border of die cut purple flowers from the Pretty Posies stamp and die sets.  On a purple fishtail banner, a stamped number 20 from the Flower-Case Alphabet stamp set and the "its your birthday" from the Whole Sheband stamp set.

My card for a 30 year old was fun to make.  I started by stamping lots of 30s using the Flower-Case Alphabet stamp set on my card front.  Since the "its your birthday" from the Whole Sheband stamp set was on my desk has working so well for me, I used it again, stamping it across all the 30s (in black ink, so they would stand out from the red stamped 30s.  Next I added several die cuts of the smallest flower from the Pretty Posies stamp and die set.

My card for a 40 year old, well... I'm honestly not sure about this one.  I was trying to create a window box card w/layers, but I added everything except the kitchen sink to this card and it's just not working for me.  I used the following stamp and die sets for this one...  SomebunnyFlower-Case AlphabetLittle BirdiesPretty Posies, and the new CELEBRATE.

For my happy 50th card,  I stepped outside my normal style and created a more grungy card.  Hand drew boxes around the sentiments from the Whole Sheband stamp set.  Used die cut balloons from the Somebunny stamp set to "pull" those wishes up into the sky.

HAPPY 50th Birthday Michele!  I'm looking forward to celebrating with you, the CAS-ual Fridays crew and all our wonderful crafty friends who will be joining us in the blog hop.

Scrapy Land Challenge #88

Hello crafty friends,

Welcome to the start of Scrapy Land Challenge #88.  Come join us... the theme as always is "anything goes".

I used the Modern Happy Frantic Stamper die to create three tags for the front of my card. I backed two of them w/a wine color card stock and the middle tag with a green color stock.  The Modern Happy is currently not available, but both the Modern Cheers and Modern Greetings are in stock and would work nicely in a similar project.

Thanks for stopping bye.... please join us for this challenge.  The winners... one selected randomly and one selected by the Design Team will both receive a $10 gift certificate to Scrapy Land.  Until next time... take care.

Inspiration Squad - apr2018 Challenge 197

Hello crafty friends,

Happy Friday... and welcome to CAS-ual Friday's Challenge #197.  This challenge's inspiration starting point is a musical one...

I love to dance, but I don't do much dancing these days... so I used one of the ballerinas from the Tutu stamps set to create a card with the perfect sentiment... "just dance".

Thank you for stopping bye today.  I look forward to seeing your MUSIC theme submissions to this month's challenge.

SAS4Kids

Hello crafty friends,

Today's post features my card for the current Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge with a theme of Anything Goes or For Mom from Kid.  I created a Happy Birthday card that anyone would love to receive using the I Woof You dog digital stamp from Di's Digi Stamps.

I used PSElements to replace the "I woof you" sentiment with a "happy birthday" one and my zig watercolor brushes to color the image.  I fussy cut the colored image, added foam tape behind it and placed it card.  As a finishing touch I add glossy accents to the eye and nose.  and stamped a few paw prints on the sign.  This little dog makes me smile... I hope it does you too.  thanks for stopping bye.

Happy Birthday To You

Hello craft friends,

Do you struggle making birthday cards for the men in your lives?  I do.  My husband isn't into home repairs (he does them, but it's not his thing), he's not into hunting (thankfully) or fishing.  He's into sports (Chicago teams), but I'm not into sports at ALL, so I never venture into that arena (get it? LOL).  Therefore, I struggle coming up with ideas for his cards... and I will share a secret with just you... there have been years when he didn't get a card from me (YES, it's true).   But not this year... I'm ready with a good card for him this year... now I just have to put it somewhere I will remember come August.

Yes, my hubby likes cards (poker, blackjack, etc.), so when I recently found this poker chip die I knew I needed to get it and pair it w/my old and still unused Tim Holtz poker card embossing folders... and in true Tim Holtz fashion, I distressed my three playing cards by inking the embossing folders before embossing the card stock.  I added a Lawn Fawn "happy birthday border" die cut along the top arch of my wood pattern paper element.

Thanks for stopping bye.  Until next time... take care.

I'm entering the following challenges:
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Happy Birthday with runs 4/4 to 4/11 8am
Simon Says Monday Challenge - A Trio of Something, with runs 4/2 to 4/9 8am.

Scrapy Land Challenge #87

Hello crafty friends,

Welcome to the start of Scrapy Land Challenge #87.  Come join us... the theme is always "anything goes".

I used a small set of reverse leaf dies from Frantic Stamper to create a background panel as the main design element of my card.  I backed the panel with a water-colored panel and matted it with a flower pattern paper.  I wanted to keep the card simple, but felt it needed something more, so I added tiny flowers and nuvo drops in pink, yellow and white.

Thanks for stopping bye.... please join us for this challenge.  The winners... one selected randomly and one selected by the Design Team will both receive a $10 gift certificate to Scrapy Land.  Until next time... take care.

Don't Worry About a Thing

cuz every little thing gone by alright...

Hello crafty friends,
I have a tall card for you today. I just had to get this Little Birdies trio stamp set from Cas-ual Fridays Stamps. And my first card with it had to be a rainbow water-colored one.  I paired the birdies with a few stitched speech bubbles dies and sentiments from the Little Birdies stamp set.

Here's a short video showing how I die cut the Little Birdies trio stamp using the matching solid die.

I'm submitting this card to:
Simon Says Monday Challenge (A Trio Of Something), which runs until next Sunday.
CAS Watercolor Card April Challenge (Bird), which runs until 4/24th.
