Send A Smile 4 Kids - Christmas in July 4 Kids

Hello and welcome to Send A Smile 4 Kids’ 175th Challenge!

I'm excited to join the Send A Smile 4 Kids celebration blog hop.  The theme is Christmas in July (4 Kids), because it is never too early to start making holiday cards for all the kids in the many children’s hospitals they now serve.  Send A Smile 4 Kids would love for each child to receive a holiday card as well as be able to pick a card or two for some special medical staff and/or loved ones during the holiday season.

I created two cards using the Tra La La digital stamp from All Dress Up Stamps.  On my first card, I printed several copies of the digital image.  You can't tell by the photo, but I ended up water coloring all the printed copies and once dry fussy cutting each of the animal apart (except the birds).  I wanted more dimension, so using foam I pop up the rabbit and the mouse and also the cat's scarf.

Card two was a fun one and came together a lot faster than card one.  Once again, I used several printed copies of the image, this time frame sections of them with my filmstrip die cut.  I used a black copic marker to color the filmstrip's background black, creating what I hope looks like a negative film affect.  I added a Spanish Merry Christmas (Feliz Navidad) die cut sentiment from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

I'm one of several stops in the blog hop, at which you have one or two chances to win by just leaving a comment.  You can also earn extra chances to win by commenting on the main SAS4Kids blog post and by entering the Christmas in July challenge which starts July 21st and runs through August 3rd at noon.  The prize offend here is the Stampendous Hydrangea Garden Cling Stamp and Die set.

Now here are the rules for this blog hop:
**You do not need to comment on every stop of the blog hop to have a chance to win a prize. One comment on any of the blogs or on the main SAS4Kids blogpost qualifies you to win one of the prizes on that blog. If you leave a comment on each stop, you will have earned 16 chances to win a prize, and if you enter a card in the Christmas in July 4 Kids challenge, you will also earn a chance to win one of 8 random prizes there.
**You MUST have an USA mailing address to qualify to win any of the prizes. We apologize to any of our readers outside of the USA, but this is a requirement to win any of the prizes in this blog hop and in the Christmas in July challenge.
**The blog hop will start July 21st at 8:00 a.m. CST and continue until July 31st at midnight CST. When the blog hop is done, all the winners will be drawn randomly from the commenters on each blog and on the main blog, and announced on the SAS4Kids blog on August 4th and on each individual blog. If your name is listed as a winner, you must contact Karen at khasheck@gmail.com BEFORE August 18th at midnight CST with your NAME, EMAIL ADDRESS AND MAILING
ADDRESS. If you do not contact Karen before August 18th at midnight CST, your prize will be forfeited.
**The Christmas in July 4 Kids challenge at SAS4Kids will run from July 21st until August 3rd at Noon CST (as is typical of our two week challenges.) You can qualify for one of 8 prizes by entering a Christmas or holiday card appropriate for a child following the rules of all of our challenges found in the page above. The prizes will be awarded by random drawing and announced with the rest of the winners on August 4th on our blog.

Donna Wakefield is the next blog hop stop. The main blog hop stop/start is the SAS4Kids blog, where you have six prizes available for winning.
Thank you so much for supporting Send a Smile 4 Kids and our wonderful sponsors of this blog hop. Good luck in the drawings! Leave a comment here and hop for more chances at many prizes.

Send A Smile 4 Kids - Guest Designer

Hello crafty friends,

I won a spot as a Guest Design (hooray for me) at Send A Smile 4 Kids by winning the  Send a Smile 4 Kids (for Mom from kids) challenge.  The current challenge Anything Goes 4 Kids or Cards for Teens...  I made two cards fits for teens to receive or give.

On my first card,

I used one of Stamping Bella Butterfly Girls ( Baratte).  There are several of them and they are all beautiful, but I purchased this one, because it showed the most wing area.   I stamped and colored her w/Chameleon Markers using similar colors as on my background panel.  I used the Crafters Workshop Sunburst 12x12 stencil for the background and the MFT Happy Birthday Circle Frame die in the center.  First I die cut the Happy Birthday circle in yellow, but it didn't give me the impact i wanted, but I die cut it from black card stock and glued it over the yellow one.

Side note: It was my first time using Chameleon Markers and honestly, I'm not sure if I like them.  I have to do more testing to give them a proper review, so stay tune for that.

On my second card,

I used the Brutus Monroe Rockstar Pets dog w/headphones stamp in two ways.  As a background stamped in gray ink and as a focal element stamped in black and colored.  I added a distress look to my background panel by splashing some inks onto it before adding the top dog element on foam tape for dimension.

Thanks for stopping... until next time, take care.

SAS4Kids

Hello crafty friends,

Today's post features my card for the current Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge with a theme of Anything Goes or For Mom from Kid.  I created a Happy Birthday card that anyone would love to receive using the I Woof You dog digital stamp from Di's Digi Stamps.

I used PSElements to replace the "I woof you" sentiment with a "happy birthday" one and my zig watercolor brushes to color the image.  I fussy cut the colored image, added foam tape behind it and placed it card.  As a finishing touch I add glossy accents to the eye and nose.  and stamped a few paw prints on the sign.  This little dog makes me smile... I hope it does you too.  thanks for stopping bye.
