TOB - May Mid-Month Challenge

Hello crafty friends, welcome to this month's challenge reminder post.
Have you started working on a card/project?  If yes, GREAT!  If no, WHAT are you waiting for?  We want to see your Halloween creations.   Remember  the Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge, runs from the 2nd to the 28th of the month and the theme is always Halloween... ANYTHING related to Halloween!

Once again, I took my inspiration for both these cards from the gold spider webs on the white background in the bottom right photo the for mode board.

On this card, I dry embossed a slim spider web card panel and later used a gold marker to color the indented lines of the spider web.  I also splatter some of the gold onto the panel for more added interest.  I added some black glitter spiders and using a black marker colored the frame of the embossed spider web panel black, before adhering it to the card front.

On this card, I used these SS web dies not has intended, because they are meant to die cut windows into your card stock, but I trim them out and used them as stand alone webs.  I layers some of them for a lacey look, alternating between gold glitter and gold foil card stock.  I mimic the look of the mode board photo, but fussy cut of white card stock and add a black matt.

Here's this month's mood board for additional inspiration... Hope to see your card soon.

Craft Roulette #94 Card

Hello crafty friends,

Here's my submission to Craft Roulette ChallengeEpisode #94 (32nd consecutive):

I don't know at what point during the show I started thinking/interpreting "Transportation" as a wish/dream to be taken away. Like in the old tv commercial "Calgon, take me away". Maybe it had something to do with the fact that my house was a total mess with empty Christmas containers waiting to be filled and packed away. And don't get me started on the condition of my office/craft room.

Since I was going with a theme of "Calgon, take me away", I went looking for a really old stamp of a lady in a bathtub I had. I can't remember the brand and I couldn't find it, maybe I even got rid of it in a purge, so I went looking for a digital alternative. The above penguin images are both digitals by Whimsy Stamps.  The purple background is just a rectangle shape I colored light purple. The thought bubbles are also shapes created in Photoshop Elements.   One purple rectangle a little bigger that A2 with the thought bubble and skiing penguin sized and position inside for base. One purple rectangle a little wider than A2 for pocket. The main image outside the purple ready for coloring and fussy cutting. Here's what my print sheet looked like:

My penguin's happy place in a snowy mountain. The card's pocket can be use for a gift card to a skiing vacation or a spa (for relaxing). Personally, I'd prefer a tropical beach vacation over a wintery one any day. So if anyone wants to give me one of those, I can be packed in 10 minutes.

Thanks for stopping bye.  Until next time, take care.

Clowns

Hello Crafty Friends,

There are a lot of scary things in the world, bugs and clowns are high on my list.  This stamp set by Whimsy Stamps called Creepy Clowns is prefect for making some scary cards.   My card has both the clowns from the stamp set popping out from the background.

I'm submitting this card to the following challenges:

Thank you for stopping bye and wish me luck.

Whimsy Stamps - Challenge #108

UPDATE... My card won the challenge...

Hello crafty friends,

Hubby is away on a golfing trip, so I gave myself the whole weekend for card making.... Yay me!  First thing on my crafty to do list was submit this card using the Penguin Party digital stamps to the current "anything goes" Whimsy Stamps Challenge.

I have fun making this card.  I first tweaked the digital stamps by erasing the fringe on top of those party hats and the designs (stars, stripes) in them.  I printed the image onto watercolor paper and hand drew rims onto the party hats, making them into witches hats. I printed an extra hat for the penguin with the scarf. The rest was just some basic coloring using my zig brush watercolor pens and a clear glitter brush pen.

I'm not afraid to use my everyday stamps (physical and digital) in different ways to get the most use I can from them.  Digital stamps are great, because they can be tweaked in small ways and sized to your needs.  I also love Halloween and I'm already working on Halloween cards.  Thank you for stopping bye.  Wish me luck on the challenge.

Whimsy Stamps - DT Call Submission

Hello crafty friends,

Wish me luck, because I'm hoping to get onto the Whimsy Stamps Creative Digital Team.   Here are a few cards I showcasing for this submission:

On this 5x7 card, I used the super cute Whimsy Stamps Penguin Swings digital stamp.  I printed the digi onto watercolor paper and used my zig water-coloring brushes to color my cute penguin and hand draw my background.  I used two small leaf stamps to add more interest to the tops of my trees.

On this A2 card, I used the I Woof You digital stamps from Di's Digi Stamps.  I printed the digi onto watercolor paper large enough to cover most of my card front and changed the sentiment of "I woof you" to "Happy Birthday".   Here's another card with the same digi that I tweaked a little in Photoshop Element, so I had three dogs.

My final card, uses a digital stamps from Aurora Wings called Trick or Treat Kids.  This card was a stretch for me, because I like color and the challenge I made this card for called for B&W with only a touch of color.  For this card I hand drew the backgound.

Well, I hope my cards speak for themselves, because I'm very proud of them and would be very happy to represent Whimsy Stamps.  Thanks for stopping bye... take care.
