#YellowInApril - HB Flower Stencil - WSD Quill

 Hello crafty friends, 

I have a process video for this card uploading to You Tube  as I write up this post.   

I'm really happy with how this card turned out. I'll have to check and see if I have any other Honey Bee stencils and compare them to this one, because this one was a little thicker than other stencils, but I was super easy to work with.  

I used two shades of Distress Oxide Inks for my yellow background stencil flowers.  A wonky stitched rectangle A2 die to die cut it and a wonky stitched square die to die cut the striped pattern  paper.  The "just a note" everyday sentiment, which is by Whipper Snapper Designs was stamped onto a partially die cut Pinked Stitched Sentiment Banner by IO.  The striped Pattern paper one under it is  the real size of that banner die. 

The super cute porcupine is Quill by WSD.  I stamp him or her on white 110lb card stock from Paper Studio and colored using my Tri-blend markers. Die cut with a stitched dome die and mounted onto the striped paper.

Craft Roulette #110 Card & Video

  Hi crafty friends... here's my submission to Craft Roulette Challenge, Episode #110 (47th consecutive):

I'm so happy that I finally used this set of products.  I'm keeping them on my desk, because I want to make a few other cards with them this week. 

On this card, I went simple and bold by placing the vivid greens and teals plant against a white washed wood panel pattern paper background that's the card front.  The plant is lifted on foam for dimension and so are the layered stamped and die cut balloon letters.

#YellowInApril - Playing with glitter liquid inks

 as I write up this post.   

On the video, I'm playing with some really saturated glitter liquid inks.  The ones in the bottles are by Brea Reese and the ones in the jars are by Spectrum Noir.  I have to spend more time playing with these inks to learn how to adjust their saturation while maintaining their glittery.  My initial attempts at blending colors wasn't as successful as I would have liked, but that's why practicing will be a good and fun thing.  

The stamp I used was the "Calla Lilies in Square" by Northwood Rubber Stamps.  The dies  were the Stitched Grassy Hill Edgers by Frantic Stamper and one of the Altenew layered Plaid cover dies as my trellis.

Craft Roulette #109 Card & Video

 Hi crafty friends... here's my submission to Craft Roulette Challenge, Episode #109 (46th consecutive):

When the wheel fell on calendar, I wasn't too worried, because I knew I had several calendar stamps and embellishments from my scrapbooking days.  Finding them was going to be the hard part, because it had been YEARS since I last used them.  I can't tell you the number of times I have tried to reorganized my stuff only to get frustrated and STOP.  I just can't handle the initial mess that it creates.   But I digress.  I finally found my stash of calendar stuff, before completely giving up the search and creating something digital in Elements, and I was good to go.

I pulled some older products... a backgound stamp by Hero Art and Basic Gray, a multi circle die by Spellbinders and some newer products... a birthday stamp set by Honey Bee (Happy BEEday) and a stencil by Heffy Doodle (Lots of Happy).

 Using the happy stencil, I distressed ink (mustard seed) my card front yellow.  I wanted the yellow stenciled background to be visible, but subdue, so I inked more mustard seed over the front card panel after removing the stencil.  Next I stamped my green calendar and blue background elements.  This is when I should have figured out where I wanted my bees and stamp them out.  Using the multi circle die, I die cut into the blue stamped background, aligning it so that certain parts were in some showed nicely in the circles.  I also used it to die cut my large calendar circle, the smaller one I added later, because I needed more green, so I fussy cut it.  I filled the circles with my stamped elements, but looking at the card now, It would have been nice to leave a couple of them open (showing the yellow stencil background).

Craft Roulette #108 Card & Video

  Hi crafty friends... here's my submission to Craft Roulette Challenge, Episode #108 (45th consecutive):

I didn't over complicate this card by adding tons of stuff to it.  I used two hot air balloons (Wplus9 Going Places) that I found in my stash already stamped, colored and die cut... they were ready to go, LOVE when that happens! I stamped a cloud background by Katzelkraft directly on my card front, because it wouldn't bleed though, so no need for a separate card panel.  Of note, the cloud background is unmounted, so I used the clear mount stamp from Purple Onion Designs to hold it for stamping.  I have both sizes of these clear mount stamps and love them.

Craft Roulette #107 Card & Video

Hi crafty friends... here's my submission to Craft Roulette Challenge, Episode #107 (44th consecutive)

this card came together super fast. The image is digital from Lily of the Valley called "Telephone Ted".  Of course, I colored the phone in purples.  I used a purple pattern paper for the die cut frame and purple distressed oxide ink for the large stamped doily.

TOB - Apr2022 Mid Month Challenge

Welcome to this month's challenge reminder post.  Have you started working on a card/project?  If yes, GREAT!  If no, WHAT are you waiting for?  We want to see your Halloween creations.   Remember  the Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge, runs from the 2nd to the 28th of the month and the theme is always Halloween... ANYTHING related to Halloween!

Ok, just between us, I have to be honest and admit that I'm not happy with how this card turned out.  But still went with it, because not every make has to be a work of art.  This hobby is suppose to be fun and relaxing and a lot of us get stressed out about making everything we do prefect.  I'm here to tell you it's ok to just have fun with you crafts and still submit your projects to challenges like this one.  

For my card I used the winter fence line stamp from IO and the pumpkin patch die from IO.  I also used the largest of the stacked dome stitched dies by MFT and one of the stitched grassy hill edger dies by Frantic Stamper.  I aligned the tiny pumpkins along the fence post (took inspiration from one of the pictures below).
