TOB Apr Challenge

Hello crafty friends,
Welcome to this month's challenge reminder post.  Have you started working on a card/project?  If yes, GREAT!  If no, WHAT are you waiting for?  We want to see your Halloween creations.   Remember  the Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge, runs from the 2nd to the 28th of the month and the theme is always Halloween... ANYTHING related to Halloween!

I used the biggest owl in my stash (a VERY old Tattered Angels set from 2009), because I wanted the owl to take up the most room on my A2 size card.  The two sentiments are also from an older Paper Smooches Halloween set called Halloween Sampler.

I started by ink blending the card panel with a dark blue and them a black over it. Then I stamped the owl in brown and filled in the negative spots with black and a little red for the craws and eyes.  I tried using a branch stamp from Local King Rubber Stamps to mimic lighting, but none of my white inks was giving me the look I wanted, so I ended up just creating the lighting bolts by hand.

Here's this month's mood board for additional inspiration... Hope to see your card/project soon.

Challenge ends on the 28th, winner will be announced on the 1st on the month before the start on the new challenge.  For a full list of all the rules please visit Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge home page.  unit next time... take care.

  2. Hi, Mary, I tried hand-drawing some lighting bolts with a white gel pen also, but gave up because they looked so awkward - yours are much better! This is a cute card!
    Xoxo, Fran
