Scrapy Land - Challenge 114

Welcome to Scrapy Land Challenge 114...

I created two two cards using the Sizzix Cutout Blossom die set by Tim Holtz for this challenge.  You can get the same feel with any cutout or reverse cut die... here are some options:  Frantic Stamper Rose Cutout Border, IO Snowflakes Cutout, FS Reverse Cut Rose

for the top panel of my first card, I started with a wide card stock piece.   I die cut the flowers and kept them in their slots while I inked around them and later splashed w/water.

by keeping the dies in the die cuts I was able to get a perfect white halo around my die cuts.

I added foam tape to my top panel and attached it to my card base over hot pink glitter card stock.  As a finishing touch, i drew stems on my flowers.

On my second card, I die cut one of the flowers in the center of two pattern papers.  I also die cut the same flower from red glitter card stock and fussy cut around the die cut giving myself a small border.  I glued the fussy cut flower over the die cut one.  As a finished touch, i added a thin red glitter card stock "seam" where the two pattern papers met and some glitter sequins.

I forgot to mention, this time I created a shaker card.

Thanks for stopping bye.... I hope you'll join us for this challenge.  The winners... one selected randomly and one selected by the Design Team will both receive a $10 gift certificate to Scrapy Land.  Until next time... take care.

  1. Both of your cards are gorgeous Mary! I love how you inked the background while the dies were still in place, I am going to have to try that! Beautiful and classy cards!

  2. Both of these are gorgeous Mary! Thanks for the tip about leaving your die in place for the inking part - great idea. I have these dies, but haven't used them yet.....but you've inspired me to do so :-).
