TOB Feb Mid Month Challenge

Hello crafty friends,
Welcome to this month's challenge reminder post.  Have you started working on a card/project?  If yes, GREAT!  If no, WHAT are you waiting for?  We want to see your Halloween creations.   Remember  the Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge, runs from the 2nd to the 28th of the month and the theme is always Halloween... ANYTHING related to Halloween!

Staying with bats as my theme this month, I wanted to combine them with flowers, so I searched my stash for large flowers and basic bats (no cute critters this time).  I ended up using a set of three bat dies from A Muse Studio to die cut three masks.

I arranged the bat masked onto my card panel and stamped my flowers over them.  I also used a fine liner to trace around the bat mask, because I wanted the bat shape to stand out more, but since I was going to coloring them black later I didn't really need to do this.

I used Distress Oxide inks as "watercolors" to color my images.  Note... I wasn't using watercolor paper, so I didn't use a lot of water when painting.  Once the flowers and bats were colored, I inked blended the purple background.  This ended up changing the color of my green leaves and some areas of my red flowers... I liked both of these changes.  My bats weren't black enough, so I went over them with a black alcohol marker.  The "Happy Halloween" text, I added during editing in Photoshop Elements.

Here's this month's mood board for additional inspiration... Hope to see your card/project soon.

Challenge ends on the 28th, winner will be announced on the 1st on the month before the start on the new challenge.  For a full list of all the rules please visit Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge home page.  unit next time... take care.

Craft Roulette #149 Submission

Hello crafty friends,
here's my 72nd submission to Craft Roulette, Episode #149:

I didn't get a chance to work on my card until last night, but when the "far away" parameter kept me thinking about field of depth or distance in my card/scene.  I had a new to me die (Rolling Hills by The Greetery) that would not only be able to show distance, but also incorporate the "collage" parameter.  The coordinating Countryside die set have me my "pops of red".

Thanks for stopping bye.  Until next time, take

Here is a link to the TS Foundation if you would like to learn more about TS:

Here's in the link to the auction:

I created these two cards for the auction:

This first card is a slimline 8"x3.7/8" top folding card.  Working on watercolor paper, I stamped the two outer flowers and then masked them and stamp the middle flower, so that it appeared behind the two outer flowers.  Using watercolor glitter liquid inks, I colored the flowers in somewhat of a rainbow order.  Once dry, I fussy cut the flowers and die cut the happy birthday creating a negative opening, which I filled with another die cut happy birthday die cut from black card stock.  The happy birthday die cut from the flower, I adhered to the inside of the card.  Finally, I adhered the flower element onto a die cut stitched rectangle panel, which then got adhered to the card.

This card is a 5"x 6.1/2" top folding Father's Day card.  I used a light woodgrain pattern paper as the card's background, which is adhered to a white card base. The "#1 dad" die cut is the shaker window, so that sheet of pattern paper is popped up on foam tape.  The beer bottle and the two tags are also popped up on foam tape.  This cards is blank inside, but a sentiment can be added.

Thanks for stopping bye.  Until next time... take care.

TOB Feb Challenge

Hello crafty friends,

Welcome to a new month at the Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge, which runs from the 2nd to the 28th of the month and the theme is always Halloween... ANYTHING related to Halloween!

Adults bats aren't the cutest animals, but I think bats are kind of cool.  Having said that, the bat (Unity's Cuddlebug Bat) I used on this card is very cute and I made it the star of the card.  I stamped it and masked it and a large heart shape behind it. I Distressed inked the purple, flipped my heart mask so that the purple was cover and Distressed inked the red heart.  I spatter some water onto the card panel and glued my die cut sentiments.

Here's this month's mood board for additional inspiration... Hope to see your card soon.
