Hello crafty friends,
It's that time again... I'm joining the fabulous ladies over at CAS-ual Fridays Stamps for their monthly Calling All Sistahs Blog Hop. If you are not familiar with this hop... it's a fun and crafty way to remind you to do your monthly breast self exam and scheduled your yearly mammogram.
For my card this month, I started with a blank 5x5 card. I die cut a stitched scalloped panel, which I water colored with distress ink after stamping "check yourself" all over it. I created the ribbon shape on the background by holding the ribbon stamp on the panel while I water colored around it. If you have the die, you can use a die cut to get the same affect. Next I stamped "calling all sistahs" and scan it, so I could enlarge it a bit. I printed it on watercolor paper, water colored it like the background panel and attached it on foam. My final touch was to add a white ribbon on the banner.
Thank you for stopping by today. Your next hop should be to Nora Noll's blog or the Cas-ual Fridays Stamp's blog. Until next month... be good to yourself.
Very pretty and important reminder card!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lori. I agree these monthly reminders are very important.
DeleteHow fun to see a square card! I haven't played with that shape for awhile, and you are inspiring me to give it a go. Thanks for sharing how you created that beautiful background, Mary. Very creative using the ribbon stamp as a mask. I'm glad you are a part of our Calling All Sistahs blog hop!
ReplyDeleteThanks Heather :) I'm happy to help in my small way. Square cards don't cost extra to mail, if you hand deliver them. So I picked up a pack of them from Hobby Lobby last time they were 50% off.
