Watercolor Backgrounds

Hello crafty friends,

I made watercolor cards this weekend.  A manly version, which I made for my Uncle-In-Law who turned 70th on Saturday.  Knowing he wouldn't want the big birthday number as the focus, I kept the design cleaner.

I enjoyed making the card so much I made a girly version.  Can you say Margaritas with salty rims :)

They both came out so cool... love them both.   Here's a look of the inside of both cards:

I also made this hostess card for my Cousin-In-Law and her Hubby to thank them for having us over.

Thanks for stopping bye today.  Until next time, take care.

MASKED HEART WREATH

Hell crafty friends,

I'm showing off this card I made for the Papertrey Ink "MAKE IT MONDAY" Challenge, who's theme is Masked Heart Wreaths.

I die cut my front panel with a stitched rectangle die and using the Little B heart dies, created a heart outline.  I masked my heart and stamped several of the sweet cupcakes from Papertrey Ink Baker's Dozen stamp set.  I colored my cupcakes with my Zig Watercolor Markers and added sparkle with gel pens.  The side view photo below shows the sparkle a little better.  This was a fun card to make and will be perfect for someone special who's bday is coming up.

Thanks for stopping by today.  If you like my card, please leave me a comment and one over on the Papertrey Ink Challenge post.   Take care :)

Flowers

Hello crafty friends,

I like big bold flowers, I can not lie.  I used the big bold and beautiful Mando Magnolia from Essentials by Ellen for all three of my cards.

I love red and purple, so I colored (somewhat poorly) my flowers with said colors using my zig clear brush pens.  I also love sparkle, so I covered all the colored flowers with my Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle pen.   I started all three cards by stamping, coloring and die cutting all the flowers.  You can't tell by these pictures, but all the flowers have dimension, because the matching die set for this stamp has each section/layer of the flower as a stand alone die, so you can die cut all three sections/layers and pop them up with foam tape.

Here's a look at each card:
On this card I started by stamping the flower all over the card front panel, which i first die cut with a stitched die. Next I die cut the black glitter Stitched Rectangle Scallop Edge Frame from MFT and arranged my flower inside with some of the petals over the frame and some under.  I finished the card with some stickles on the flowers center, some sequin and really bad enamel dots.  On a side note, my friend and I order several bottles of Ranger Enamel Accents and Ranger Liquid Pearls from ScrapbookPal.com and we got a bad batch for sure.  they are thick and take great effort to squeeze out.  Once out they form a peak that's impossible to get rid of.  I know this is not the normal consistency for this product, because I have others that work fine.   I really think we got an old batch. Unfortunately our complains have gone unanswered :(

The next two cards were made in pretty much the same way.

Thanks for stopping bye today.  I'm going to start working on love cards for Valentines this weekend, so I'll be back next week with more cards.

Calling All Sistahs - Jan2017 Blog Hop

Hello crafty friends,

I'm so happy to be joining the fabulous ladies over at CAS-ual Fridays Stamps for their monthly Calling All Sistahs Blog Hop.  If you are not familiar with this hop... it's a fun and crafty way to remind you to do your monthly breast self exam and scheduled your yearly mammogram.

I started by stamping the Hope Ribbon on my card front panel.  I added a raised shaker element I made using the hour glass from the Sands of Time stamps set and the sweet Pretty Pink Posh sequin mix called Sistahood Sparkle.

Thank you for stopping by today.  Your next hop should be to Claire Apostoloff's blog.  If not, you can always start over at the Cas-ual Fridays Stamps blog or at any of the blogs below:
