Hello crafty friends,
Scrapy Land's Challenge #68 theme is... Embossing (dry or heat), using SL die brands. This challenge made me dig out my embossing folders, which i love, but don't use offend. Since it's almost Father's Day, I got to work on a Father's Day card.
I started with a woodgrain embossing folder, which I die cut w/a stitched rectangle and inked w/some green and brown distress ink. Next I stamped a tree ring using a stamp from Concord and 9th and inked that with brown distress ink. On top of the tree ring I added a Die-Version's die cut #1 Dad. Here's an in stock Dad die that would work. As a finishing touch, I added some die cuts leaves. The ones i used are not currently available, but here's one that I have my eye on.
Thanks for stopping bye today. Hope you'll join for this challenge. You have until 7/1 to submit your projects. The winners... one selected randomly and one selected by the Design Team will both receive a $10 gift certificate to Scrapy Land. Until next time... take care.

ReplyDeleteThanks Lori! I love the scrapy land is starting to carry more brands and some stamps.
DeleteLove your masculine card! I really like the tree ring; it's now on my wish list :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Anne :) I'm going to post a picture of the tree ring stamp along side another similar stamp, so you can pick which one you like better.
DeleteAwesome masculine card! The embossing looks fantastic~I love the inking of the wood grain. Gives it a "real" look. The log is perfect and love how you added the #1 dad to the center of the log. So cool!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!

Thanks Sherrie :) I'm working on a card that uses the log stamp in a non guy way.
DeleteMary, you've made an inspiring masculine card with the embossing folder and gorgeous dies! I love that wood grain with the slice of tree trunk on top! Very clever way to present the sentiment "#1 Dad"! I also like the way you wrote your post; thank you for the inspiration both in words and pictures! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sara. I think we all struggle with masculine cards :)
