Scrapy Land - Challenge 118

Hello and Welcome to our new challenge

Do you see stuff during your normal day and say "that would make a great card."  Well, that's what I said when I saw this turtle wall art recently.

I was going for the same look and feel, but as you can see from my card... I deviated quite a lot...LOL.  I still want to try making a card that looks just like the wall art.

I used the following three sets of dies:  Elizabeth Craft Turtle die, Memory Box Family of Fish die and Frantic Stamper Large Staghorn Coral die.  The Elizabeth Craft Turtle die is not currently available, but one of these other turtle dies would work for this look.

Thanks for stopping bye.... I hope you'll join us for this challenge.  The winners... one selected randomly and one selected by the Design Team will both receive a $10 gift certificate to Scrapy Land.  Until next time... take care.

AAA Cards - White Space (Christmas) Challenge

Hello crafty friends,

Can I share a secret?  I'm not good w/white space.  So when I started working on a card to submit to the current AAA Cards - Maxi White Space w/optional twist of Christmas in July I tried to keep my design as white as I could manage.

And this is what I came up with.  Somewhat busy, but technically there's a lot of white space, right?

Thanks for stopping by and wish me luck.

Impression Obsession - Sending Sunshine Challenge

Hello crafty friends,

I'm back with this bright sunny card

for the Impression Obsession Sending Sunshine Challenge that goes until July 9th.

Challenge Sunshine

I used the following IO products for this card:

I started w/a die cut tag, onto which I embossed the Bird Silhouettes stamp with superfine white embossing powder.  I then water colored the tag with yellows and light orange using a combination of watercolors and distress ink.  I set the tag aside to dry, while I worked on the card's front panel.  First, I stamped the Starburst with distress ink.  Using the same ink, I then stamped the  Bird Silhouettes on all four sides of the card panel.   oops, forget to say that I cut the card to a square 5 1/2" before stamping the birds all around.  I die cut the thinking of you and tucked it under the ribbon.  Since the ribbon had black on it, I stamped the tag sentiment with black ink.   The sentiment is not IO, which tells me I have a gap in my IO sentiment collection that needs filling... LOL.  I added nuvo drops in orange, yellow and black as my finishing touch.

Thanks for stopping bye and wish me luck.

Scrapy Land - Challenge 117

Hello and welcome to our new challenge

Raise your hand if you send out 4th of July cards?

I'm good about making cards, but really really bad when it come to actually mailing those cards out.  I used a ray die for the backgrounds, a happy birthday die that cuts the letters, but leaves them connected at the bottom.  Here are links to two options currently in stock Frantic Stamper Happy Birthday, Lawn Fawn Happy Birthday and the tall beautiful Frantic Stamper Brooklyn Alphabet for the "USA".

Thanks for stopping bye.... I hope you'll join us for this challenge.  The winners... one selected randomly and one selected by the Design Team will both receive a $10 gift certificate to Scrapy Land.  Until next time... take care and have a fun, safe 4th of July weekend.
