DRU - Spooky Banner

 Hello crafty friends,

Mary back today with my last Halloween card of the season for this blog.

I started my card by die cutting a square window in the middle, so that the inside stamped pattern (IO Cover-a-Card Gradation CC015) could be seen.  I used the Die-Versions Stitched Squares, but would have preferred to used the Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Squares, because the stitched lines are left on both the negative and positive pieces.  

Next I inked the around the sides of my card front with distress ink. While the ink dried, I die cut the Spooky Banner die by Tutti Designs from black glitter cardstock and glue it to the card.  A sentiment from the Tiny Halloween stamp set by Lawn Fawn and some sequin finished the card.

Scrapy Land - Challenge 130

Hello crafty friends,

I used the Lawn Fawn Mini Picture Frames to create the two cards I'm featuring in this post.

My blue card is a slim one 8x4 with a distress inked background and a combination of negative and positive die cut snowflakes from the Elizabeth Craft Designs Winter Sweater die set.   The cute animals stamped onto the centers of the picture frames are from Purple Onion Designs by Stacey Yacula.  I kept both the frame and the center of the frames together with a little tape on the back, but colored the centers with the same distress ink.  I love purple, so added a pop of it to each stamped cutie.  A few purple nuvo drops finished this card.

My purple card is slightly bigger than an A2 card.  I once again distressed inked the background and the centers of the die cut frames.  This time I used all four of the mini picture frame die cuts and I pop up the outer frames with foam tape.  The stamped cuties on this card are from the Hello Bluebird Snowball Flight stamp set.

Both card backgrounds were sprayed with Tattered Angels Pearl Glimmer Mist after distress inked.

Scrapy Land - Challenge 123

Welcome crafty friends,

I'm in full Halloween mode, so my card for challenge #123 is a Halloween theme one.

I used the Lawn Fawn Magic Color Slider die set to create the main element of my card front.

As you can see, when you pulled the slider piece up, the magic colored image reveals itself.

This is just one of the may ways you can use this die set, which comes with three front shape dies (heart, oval, and the rectangle i used).  The set also comes with a cute sprity hello and banner dies.

If you are looking for a speech bubble die set, then you have to check out this Lawn Fawn one.  It's on my wishlist, so leave one for me :)

Here's a picture of all the components that make the slider on my desk last night.  From top left to right... the main die that cuts the slider base.  The U shaped piece that when added to the inside of the slider base will create the "track" for the slider.   The actual sliding piece w/the tab.  The rectangle  double side stitched die that creates the opening.

Scrapy Land - Challenge 121

Here's my card for challenge #121:

I used the Mini Picture Frames by Lawn Fawn and the Cats dies by Impression Obsession to create a wall of framed "photos" of my cats... Rusty (Orange Tabby), Bear (mini Panther), Storm (our crazy baby).

LOL, you just never know when your next idea will come from... I got my inspiration for this card from a set of hand towels I recently purchased.

Time Out Challenge #138

Hello crafty friends,

The current Time Out Challenge has a "Funny" theme and is sponsored by CAS-ual Fridays! 

Therefore, I couldn't help but reach for the WTF2 stamp set (LOL, it's not want you think) .  This stamp set is perfect for those BIG digit birthdays, but also for some friendly encouragement cards.  And seriously, I don't know anyone who wouldn't love to get a WTF card... LOL.

I used the Lawn Fawn Reveal Wheel die set and one of the cats from the Katzelkraft Les Chats stamps set.

I stamped a sentiment longer than the reveal window, making it so the reader has to spin the wheel around to read the whole message.  This was my first time using the reveal wheel set and as you can see making a long message means the wheel has to spin up instead of down, so I glued the little arrow pointing up to reflect that.  Normally the window would reveal self contained mini messages, so the direction you spin the wheel is not a big factor.

I stamped "happy 50th birthday" on the inside of my card.

Scrapy Land - Challenge 113

Welcome to Scrapy Land Challenge #113...

I have a box card to show off today.   There are several good box card dies in the market.  I used a Spellbinders one that's not currently available, but these other two are (Lawn Fawn Scalloped Box Card and Pink & Main Box Card)

I also used the Frantic Stamper Contemporary Floral Border and Frantic Stamper Stitched Grassy Hill Edgers.   The floral border I cut into sections for my card flaps.  The grass die I placed in the middle sections.   If you need balloon dies, I have this Poppystamps one on my wishlist.
